Don Elí Monterey - Costa Rica, Terrazu
Late summer when coffees from our friends at Don Elí in Costa Rica arrive is one of our favorite times of the year. After visiting them in 2020 we knew we had made lasting friendships with some of the best producers in the country. This year we are happy to share with you three coffees from the same cultivar that have undergone different processing methods unique to Don Elí from Carlos and his son Jacob Montero.
This Monterey lot is a beautifully balanced coffee processed with their signature “Honey Reposado” method which allows the coffees to spend some extra time undergoing a light fermentation. The result is an extremely sweet cup that reminds us of honey crisp apples, milk chocolate, and sweetened condensed milk.
